How We Met

On March 23, 2002, I experienced my first serious heartbreak. I had made a promise to God that I would dedicate an entire year to seeking His will in my life. I continued to date throughout this process, but nothing serious. I wanted to draw closer to God and find out who He truly wanted me to be with as a life partner. As the song by Barlow Girl "No More Dating...I'm just Waiting.." continually played on the radio I began to realize that God would take care of me. I went up to Ohio to visit my Aunt and Uncle during a Spring Break my freshman year in college. After the family turned into bed, I became bored and thought I would try to find some people to chat with through AOL (yeah..oldies right?). I began searching profiles for males from the Sevierville area who had the word Jesus in their profile and who was online. For some unknown reason, Stephen's profile was the only profile that came up that night. I thought I would give it a try so I sent him a message, and after moments of waiting because of the basketball game Stephen was watching, Stephen finally replied and we began chatting. After about a week of chatting both online and on the phone, we decided to meet. So, Stephen and I found a safe place (and I was smart and invited my best friend Kristy along---just in case) to meet and we hit it off right from the beginning. I had to leave early because of a test I was SUPPOSED to be studying for and as soon as I left Stephen called and asked when he could see me next. I was excited and we planned another meeting shortly following. I knew that Stephen had a little special extra special that no other man had and I definitely wanted to stick around to try to figure it out. Stephen FINALLY asked me to be his wife on December 22, 2006 after he felt he had enough time to get to know me. (I think he had plenty of time!!)
