Our Fairytale Wedding!

We were married on July 7, 2007. We chose this day because in the Bible the number 7 is a number of completion. We wanted our day to be a reflection of both us, so we changed a lot of things so that they would fit our personality rather than a normal traditional ceremony.

That morning I woke up to my mom sitting on the bed, rubbing my head and telling me "your dream day is here!" I wasn't nervous at all, but I got up and took a bath to relax and because it's one of my favorite things to do! My mom cooked breakfast and I had my coffee (which was in fact RC and not coffee). I got in the car and I was on to the church.  I had just grabbed my RC to take a drink and I was listening to the radio, and all of the sudden I see a truck heading right for my car. I HAD A WRECK ON MY WEDDING DAY! I immediately called my Dad and then one of my matrons- Robin. She couldn't believe it. She came quickly and so did my Dad. I then called Courtney to tell her I would be at the church a little late due to the fact that I had no way of getting to the church. My car was in dyer need of some attention. I had the car detailed and everything the day before! I was so mad. I got out of the car and yelled: "This is my wedding day!" He just looked at me and said, oh you're still beautiful. My dad saved the day and was able to get us a car for our getaway!

After all the madness, we quickly got to the church and got started on my hair. My cousins brought me some tater-tots from Hardees (my favorite breakfast!) and Dr. Pepper. Of course I didn't eat them all. The day seemed to speed by quickly after this point. I remained calm just knowing that Stephen was the man God wanted me to marry. Little things came up all day, but I was determined not to let those "things" get in the way of my happiness on this day.

Thankfully, my good friend Daphne and her husband Sam were there to help with the wedding details and she kept things going throughout the day. Stephen and I opted to do all pictures before the wedding therefore, we did see each other before the ceremony. We wanted our pictures (the only memory we have now) to be beautiful and I also did not to have our guests waiting while we captured all that beauty.

So, at 1:00 on 7-7-07, Stephen was asked to come to the alter of the church as I would be walking down the aisle shortly. Gary Woods was there to open the doors and allowed us time to share together. This gave me a chance to see his face when he saw me for the first time. That's my favorite thing in weddings and normally the bride doesn't get a chance to see that because everyone is standing. So, this gave us both a chance to see each other's faces. This was a magically moment for us both. We were then able to exchange wedding gifts and just have that moment to share together. It really did take the nervous feelings out of my stomach because seeing Stephen made me calm. Then Gary came in and took pictures of us both.

The rest of the day was completely magically. It was a day that I will never forget. It will forever stay in my heart--the greatest memory of all time. God was with us both this day and I'm so thankful for Him taking care of us both.
